Friday evening my wife and I went to Cirque Du Soleil - Algria!. It was at the Target Center. We went downtown about 5:00 to have dinner and then go to the show. During dinner we looked outside the window and saw that it was raining very hard.
The nice thing about being downtown during a rainstorm is the skyway. We finished dinner and then walked through the skyway to the Target Center. I had brought an umbrella with me, but was not allowed to take it into the arena (it might be used as a weapon, yeah right). I put it behind a vending machine (a suggestion from the policeman there) to pick it up later.
The show was very nice. I especially like the "Master of Ceremonies". Combined with the music and lights, it was very impressive.
The rain had stopped by the end of the show so we had a nice walk back to the car.

Economics
The current crisis in Europe explained in 3 minutes:

It's like the 3 Stooges routine where each of them owes $10 dollars to each one of the others and they manage to pay it back without having to do anything. I still recall the looks on their faces at the end of the payback. Very confused.

Movie Seen
Saturday evening, trying to find a movie in the house that we actually haven't seen, I selected "The Last Detail". This was a 1973 movie about a naval prisoner (Randy Quaid) who is to be escorted to Portsmith to serve an 8 year sentence for attempting to steal $40. Jack Nicholson is one of the Shore Patrol escorts.
It's a tough movie to watch because it's a very dark comedy. I was, however, quite shocked to see Gilda Radner! She has a small part in the film as a member of a chanting group the boys come across. Very nice to see her looking healthy and young. This was years before her SNL stint.
One of my favorite actors Carol Kane also appears.
Jack Nicholson was 37 years old in this film. He didn't look too good (according to my wife). He got better looking and more interesting as he got older (again according to my wife).
I give this movie 3 out of 5.

Movie
My wife and I just finished watching "Easy Virtue" a movie about a woman who is a race car driver who marries a young man from a supposedly wealthy family. It's based on a Noel Coward play. It is a fairly good movie. Kristin Scott Davis (whom I recall from 3 Weddings and a Funeral) plays a particuarly vile and hateful mother of the groom. Jessica Biel, who I just found out was born in Ely, Minnesota looks quite nice as a blonde.
The butler is one of the coolest characters, who remains calm and does the right thing even in the worst of circumstances.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
