A few weeks ago, my wife and I went to see Avatar in at the Eden Prairie IMAX theatre. We used to go to the zoo to see the 3-D movies, but were somewhat disappointed by the strange practice of demanding that everyone stand in line for 45 minutes to an hour before letting them in.

The Eden Prairie Mall screen is not quite as big as the one at the zoo, but they let you come in and sit down after you buy the tickets, which is a lot more comfortable.

The theatre was pretty much full for this showing, and during the long film (2 hours and 42 minutes), only one person got up to use the facilities.

The film was very good. One critic I heard complained that it was "predictable", but that did not make it any less enjoyable.

I would have to give it 5 stars out of 5. It combines romance, science-fiction, and philosophy in a very nice way. I would see it again and sit through the entire movie once more.
