Music

40 year old mystery solved!

When I was a teenager, I had a transistor radio w/earphone and listened to it every night while going to sleep.

There was one song that I remember, but could never, ever recall who did it, or what it's title was. There is a brief pause in the music, and then it would come back loudly. I would fall asleep during the pause, and then wake up abruptly when it came back.

This evening I was listening to Nexus Radio : Deep Oldies, and just plugged the earphones in during the very moment I recall.

The song is Tongue-in-Cheek by Sugarloaf.

That is the last song from the 70's that I could not recall.

Music

From the 1970 K-Tel record which took me weeks of saving to afford:
Jaggerz : The Rapper.

I haven't heard that one in years!

In Memory Of

Mike Cuellar : Cuban who pitched for the Baltimore Orioles. I still remember him vs. the MN Twins back in the 70's.

John Forsythe : Voice of Charlie from Charlie's Angels.

Ed Roberts : American computer pioneer.

James Escalante : American mathematics teacher : inspiration for the film "Stand and Deliver".

All Americans

Please, please, all Americans should read the following books!

"Economics in One Lesson" by Henry Hazlett
"A Time For Truth" by William Simon
"Restoring the American Dream" by Robert J. Ringer
"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.

If you want to know what is desperately wrong with this country and how to fix it; how America can become great once again, how jobs are created, how freedom leads to prosperity, the above books will give you the answers.

Movie

My wife and I went to the Eden Prairie Mall this past Saturday to see "Clash of the Titans - 3D". This movie was about as 3D as Harry Potter was. The selection of 3D scenes were not very good, but the story seemed to hold true.

The actor who played hero Perseus was the same actor who played the hero in "Avatar". He's a busy fellow.

I had seen the original movie from 1981 starring Harry Hamline who made his mark in L.A. Law. The new one had greatly improved special effects and a great Medusa who seemed far dangerous than before.

All in all, I enjoyed the film. The theater was filled to capacity, with several people arriving late, but so many previews allowed the entire film to be seen without yelling "Down in front!"

I give the film 3.5 out of 5.
